KENT MIKUS: When an accident happens, it happens not just to the person who was injured but to the whole family. We handle car accident, motorcycle accident and truck accident cases. It's important for us to be able to start our representation of an injured accident victim as soon as possible because the insurance company has their investigators and their accident reconstruction team on the scene often the same day.
Before I went to law school, I went to Carnegie Mellon and got a degree in mechanical engineering and worked as a design engineer. That technical background is extremely valuable in representing our clients whenever there is a technical issue, like accident reconstruction or evaluating the sufficiency of the design of a product.
Insurance companies and the attorneys that they hire are very familiar with the attorneys that represent accident victims. They know which attorneys settle cases quickly as opposed to our firm, for example, which develops every case as if it's going to go to trial. By doing that and by having the reputation for doing that, cases are actually less likely to go to trial and we can get a better recovery for our clients.
We're not necessarily going to get you the fastest recovery. We're not necessarily going to conclude your case the quickest because we're going to take the time to make sure that we've done everything that needs to be done to maximize your recovery.
